Children's center Stoombol is located in the center of the Spoorbuurt in the heart of Alkmaar on the Snaarmanslaan in the monumental building of primary school Bello. A beautiful characteristic building with a cozy and warm atmosphere. In addition to day care, Stoombol offers toddler care and after-school care. The day care consists of a vertical group for 0-4 year olds, the toddler care is for children of 2-4 year olds during school weeks and during school hours, the after-school care offers care for children from 4 years before and after school.
At the toddler care (POA) children are cared for during school hours, in the age of 2 to 4 years. The children have a great time with us. They learn to play together, share together and deal with rules and agreements. We also stimulate language development by talking a lot with each other, reading stories, telling stories and singing songs.
In both groups we work with the VVE program Uk&Puk for a good connection to primary school. There are regular consultations with the tribal group leaders of Bello primary school about all kinds of activities for and by the children. The transition from toddler care to education is discussed, so that the new toddlers quickly feel at ease.
At the after-school care of BSO Stoombol, children aged 4 to 12 years are cared for in two vertical groups of together a maximum of 33 children per day. The BSO offers before and after school care, holiday care and care during school days off. The groups are supervised by enthusiastic and driven pedagogical staff.
At BSO StoomBol we work with the theme BSO, a daily recurring activity. The themes of sports and games, nature and technology, music and theater and art and creative are central. The children are challenged every day to learn new things and to work thematically. Playing together and learning from each other is of paramount importance at BSO Stoombol.
Each group has its own room, which is suitably furnished for this purpose. As soon as the weather permits, the children can use the outdoor play area.
