On the cover of Kiddo magazine: Niene (11 months)
Sharon Vogel (29) is location manager of Skippybol children's center, part of Rollebol Children's Centers in Alkmaar. 'I have been working at Rollebol for five years now, first as a pedagogical employee and recently as a location manager. There are three baby groups, four toddler groups and two areas for out-of-school care for over a hundred children a day.'
'I visit the groups a lot, I like to have direct contact with my colleagues and all the children and their parents. I combine that task with my work as a VVE coach: together with three colleagues I ensure that all Rollebol employees can work with the VVE method Uk & Puk. I am very eager to learn and passing on knowledge is what I enjoy most. Together we look at how everything is going in the groups and what we would like to deepen, often we do this with video interaction guidance. In it you can clearly see the non-verbal communication of the children that you do not immediately notice during an activity. Recently we have a VVE-certified toddler group, where we can guide children with a VVE indication. We also offer toddlers Miffy exercise classes and survival swimming in the local pool. Together with a pedagogical employee and a lifeguard, they can get to know water and play funny games. Later on, children from after-school care can also participate in diploma swimming via Rollebol.
The picture shows Niene, a cheerful and curious girl who has been with us for over six months. She likes to be everywhere, goes up to all the children and also likes to sit with us. She now enjoys practicing to learn to stand and walk with a hand, it will help her if she can do it herself soon. Niene also has quite a mind of her own; we hear it clearly when something happens that is not to her liking. So sweet… We enjoy her immensely!'
